FINAL FURLONG RACING STABLE OFFERS NY BRED NY SIRED FILLY BY LEOFRIC OUT OF STAKES PLACED MARE
Leofric is a sire that has thrown a lot of attractive looking foals that are more balanced looking than the typical Candy Ride line. Most of the Leofric foals can be a bit light in the hip but most of them have very nice motion. Diptique has the typical nice fluid motion we see from the better Leofric foals but the Central Banker on the bottom side added more strength and muscling to the package and shortened the back up a bit to add more speed to this foal.
Diptique is very correct with a notable soundness impression. She seems very straight forward at a walk. She has a lot of girth and is broad through the chest for an early yearling. She has a lot of body and substance we like to see in a racing prospect. While she has strength through the forearm, shoulder and hip, she uses the strength smartly with a very fluid motion. Similar to the better Leofric’s and Candy Ride line horses, Diptique looks like she has some class about her. Her length of leg suggests she will cover good ground and improve with age.
Diptique is out of a Central Banker mare that was a MSW winner and stakes placed 3YO around two turns on the turf. While the Central Banker influence does look to have added some speed to Diptique, the mare was successful on the stretch out so Diptique has endurance influences on the top and bottom. Sterling Beauty’s dam, Them There Eyes, was also a multiple stakes winner going long on the turf and there are route influences throughout the pedigree. While Sterling Beauty was stakes placed at Saratoga as a 3YO, the second dam was also stakes placed as a 3YO and the third dam products two foals that were each 3YO stakes winners at Saratoga going two turns.
We purchased Diptique with the intention that she will be well positioned as a NY sired NY bred and be eligible for the lucrative NY stallion series stakes program including the 3YO turf series at Belmont and Saratoga.
