WOW! Where to begin in a banner year for your stable!
First and foremost, with all the success we had many people ask - What was your favorite moment of 2022? The easy answer could have been Celebrating in the winners circle (again) with a victory in the Busher (one of our 2 Stakes wins) or of course having Venti run in the Oaks, or was it going to visit Espresso Shot in Keeneland in foal and knowing she remembered us as she walked out of her barn? Possibly it was our second consecutive year where we had graded stakes placing or would it be the 2 day stretch at Belmont were we won 3 of 4 races, or finishing in the top 3 in every effort at Saratoga this summer? One might say it was winning 2 year old horse of the year at the annual NY Breeders’ Awards after being nominated 5 consecutive years, or having a 2 year old finish in the money in a sakes race 5 years in a row? Or is certainly had to be crossing the $3,000,000 earning mark or breeding a $500,000 sales yearling. It could certainly be closing the year on a high note winning the Bay Ridge Stakes, right? These are just a few of the amazing moments that come to mind when people ask us that question.
BUT this year our favorite part BY FAR was that we were able to spend days at the track and out before and afterward together again. Oftentimes we take the little things for granted, but just being able to grab a sandwich together at Hatties at Saratoga, sit outside together in the Belmont Backyard or (yes even The big A has some spots to spend time together) lunch at Equestris, or their new horseman’s lounge that really isn’t half bad :) - 2022 was a year where we got back to “Normal” at the race track and must we say, we absolutely LOVED it!
Our success on the track and in the Breeding partnerships allowed us to add even more quality athletes to the roster and bring on new #Family members to go along for the ride with us. From our humble beginnings 12 year ago when no one knew who we were and we were asking everyone we knew if they wanted to buy into a share of a horse with us, to now where our offerings sell out in what seems to be a few hours - adding new “Blood” Stock to our already amazing roster of partners is something we are most thankful for!
As we all know, horse racing is a roller coaster and being on the ride together is what we certainly enjoy most. This was a year too that saw one of our managing partners tie the knot when Dan and Tracy became the newest official #NewYorkBred family :)
So as the clock strikes twelve on another banner year, we toast to each and every one of you and say thanks, because without you none of this is possible. Here’s to 2023 where our current lineup is as stacked as ever and we can’t wait to show you what’s next !
