Final Furlong Racing Stable acquired this NY Bred filly by Majestic Warrior at the Fasig Tipton Midatlantic 2YO Sale. We studied every NY Bred on the grounds and found this filly to be the best racing prospect. She breezed an eighth in 10.3 galloping out a quarter mile in 22.3. Her stride length was 23.7 feet which was inches better than the average for the sale. Our bloodstock selection team thought this filly had one of the most efficient breezes of any NY Bred in the sale. She is very light on her feet which is one reason why she vetted completely clean. She has great range of motion and fully uses her powerful shoulder to maximize her reach in each stride. This filly has a tremendous shoulder with deep girth and a solid top line. She gives a great soundness impression with clean joints, bones and feet. The typey filly shows great balance while standing and athleticism at a walk. We love this filly’s pedigree as she is a half sister to the well known New York runner, Marriedtothemusic. Her dam, Significant Other, is by one of the great broodmare sires in Not for Love. Significant Other, an early debut winner in July of her 2YO career, has produced five foals to race with three winners: Marriedtothemusic: 8 time winner of $392k including the $100k Affirmed Success Stakes. Marriedtomichael: 3 time winner of $52k. One or the Other: MSW winner of $40k This is the first time the breeder bred Significant Other to a non-NY based sire and bred her up to an expensive Kentucky Sire. Majestic Warrior is by the great sire of sires A.P. Indy and won first time out as a 2YO at Saratoga before winning the Grade I Hopeful Stakes. Majestic Warrior is represented by 15 stakes winners including Champion Toto Terry and Kentucky Oaks winner, Princess of Sylmar. Significant Other has since been bred to Union Rags and Violence so the family is now getting a lot of support in the breeding shed. This filly will be trained by Brian Lynch. Brian has amassed $32 million in earnings over a 25 year career boasting a 17% win clip. So far in 2017, Brian has been winning at a rate of 19% earning an average of $11k per start while competing at Belmont, Gulfstream and Keeneland. Brian has campaigned Grade 1 winners Grand Arch and Coffee Clique and is most recently known for top sprinter Clearly Now, 2016 Breeder’s Cup Juvenile Turf winner Oscar Performance and Raven Run winner Lightstream. We are hoping to see her make her debut this summer @ Saratoga! |
